What can the U of A continue to do to make this a safe place to be?
On the opposite end of that, what else can the UA do to promote safety and further create a safe campus culture?
A blogging network for students to discuss safety issues on campus and share tips with each other

While the U of A does do a lot to promote safety, the university could do more to make students safer.
I'd like to see more security at and around sporting events, especially at football games.
I'd also like to see events on how students can keep themselves safe from identity theft.
I agree, the U of A is always preaching about safety around campus.
The University does a lot to help keep students safe, but they can only do so much. I feel that the University can't do to much more, and that it is up to the students to be careful.
If they university were to do more, I would say increase the lighting around campus and security at night.
I agree, there can be more lighting around campus if permitable. Also, maybe an easy number to remember/dial from a cell phone if someone is in distress on campus and cannot get to a seecurity/police light.
The U of A does a lot for safety awareness. I mean, they send out emails as well as post advertisements in all the buildings I've been in. During the day, it's absolutely fine. The UAPD are around everywhere. At night, I see less of them. Maybe have more people on duty around dark areas of the campus at night.
U of A does plenty to help, maybe if they had a little more assistance for students in the dorms at late hours in case students are being disruptive and destructive near the campus. I'm only speaking from my experience from living in Babcock and people would throw glass bottles from the top floor.
That and have a few more lighted areas...
There are a few things that come to mind about how the safety system can be improved. There are already a bunch of security at all U of A events and Blue emergency poles , but not enough security in the dorms at night. Also the lighting around campus is terrible. It is difficult to see much when your walking around campus at night
I would say a security guard at the library at night. Just to keep watch and help provide a safer atmosphere for the students. Also, I think more lightening would help in certain areas around campus.
